MY

STORY

My love of music began with the Embers and General Johnson and The Chairmen of the board. During the late 70's and early 80's, I attended a wide variety of Beach Music festivals around the Carolina's, including the granddaddy of them all, The Emerald Isle Beach Music Festival. In September 1982, I was hired by the Embers as a "roadie," and it was a fun and amazing experience in setting up sound, light, and stage systems. This also gave me a chance to interact with the classic bands of beach music:  The Breeze Band, Billy Scott and The Prophets, North Tower, The Castaways, The Four Tops,  James Brown, The Band of Oz, The Catalinas, Clarence Carter, The Poor Souls, The Part Time Party Time Band,  and of course General Johnson and the Chairmen of the Board!

They say the past is merely prologue, and my journey in DJ'ing is no different.  After nurturing a love for music for many years, the turning point was my son's graduation from NCSU. I have to thank DJ Jay Rodgers for igniting my passion. DJ Jay, a close family friend from my time spent with The Embers, loaned me his equipment for my sons graduation party.

It was then I fell in love with the art of DJing. The feeling of the crowd, the energy, the excitement, everyone dancing and having an unforgettable time.  DJing is not about choosing a few tunes. It is about generating shared moods; about understanding the feelings of a group of people and directing them to a better place.

I then started buying equipment and worked on creating a full party experience, mixing professional equipment with a personal touch.  Starting with a great sound system, I strive to create a fully-featured performance,  blending both the audio and the visual using a great light show, lasers, and smoke machines to complement the mood.  For me, DJing is about creating that experience, that feeling at your event. Let me help you make your next party an unforgettable experience!
